I saw The Departed, Martin Scorsese's crime/drama, when it was released in 2006. I remember I rooted for the Matt Damon character back then and thought the Mark Wahlberg character was way out of line when he killed Damon in the final scenes.
I saw the movie for the second time tonight and came away with a different point of view.
Let's back up a bit. It's Boston and Jack Nicholson is a big crime boss who takes Matt Damon under his wing as a child and trains him to a life of crime and sends him to cop school so he can be an informant on the inside. Leonardo DiCaprio is from a crime family but goes to cop school to be a cop and fight crime and becomes an undercover cop in Jack's gang.
For reasons I can't explain, I never liked DiCaprio. No specific reason. I just didn't like the guy so I didn't like him in any movies he was in, including Titanic. I would have preferred Billy Zane as Jack and DiCaprio as the rich, pampas ass. Even a bald Billy Zane would've been preferable as the Jack character. In my opinion, the best part of Titanic was DiCaprio freezing to death in the arctic waters.
But now it's 2019 and I have a different attitude. The whole premise of The Departed is the cops had a mole and the bad guys had a mole and both sides were trying to find out who the respective moles were.
The second time around I found myself siding with DiCaprio. This guy was in constant danger and surrounded by murderous psychotics for years. Matt Damon was in the cop shop, adored as the perfect Irish cop. Did I mention all these people, good and bad, were all Irish? When Mark Wahlberg killed Matt Damon in his own apartment, the first time I saw it, I hated what Mark did. The second time around I cheered.
That's kinda like Trump.
Something to think about.

biblical stuff
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities
of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of
the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of
lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and
furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And
you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

joe's leg hair
I'm voting for Joe Biden in the primaries. Joe is the quintessential example of a true democrat. I encourage everyone to vote for Joe in the primaries. I know you want to. Just do it.

keto game changer
The rules for a ketogenic lifestyle are pretty simple. Eat anything you like but keep your carbohydrate intake to 20 grams or less per day.
That means you can eat protein in the form of bacon, beef, pork, chicken, fish, butter, lard, tallow, heavy cream, and just about any animal based product. Carbs are plant based fruits and vegetables with varying amounts of carbs, depending on the amount of natural sugars they contain.
Starchy foods like potatoes, corn, peas, and rice are keto no-nos. Most leafy greens have next to no carbs and everything else falls somewhere in between. Avocados are preferred for their high fat content and the fiber compensates for the carbs.
Grains are considered the worst foods to consume and a small bite of toast will knock you right out of ketosis. Considering our most popular foods are made from grain, like pizza, pasta, gnocchi, lasagna, pirogi, hoagies, baguettes, donuts, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and just about everything on a fast food menu is off limits to the hardcore keto enthusiast.
I'm happy to say I found a way to have my cake and eat it, too. This information has been out for at least six months, and since I'm into this kinda stuff, I'm amazed I didn't hear about it til just a few days ago.
What you see here is a liverwurst and onion sandwich with 2.8 grams worth of total carbs. And that's only because I put some almond flour in the mix to simulate real bread. I tried making coconut flour tortillas and almond flour mug bread but nothing I tried compares to chaffles, as far as taste and texture. I'm just overjoyed because now I don't have to miss a good sandwich.
It sure is a keto game changer.
So, what's so bad about grains? Nothing, if we lived 200 years ago and did physical labor for a living like getting up before dawn to pull stumps, haul rocks, build log cabins, fetch water, and fight off Indians. Instead, we're in the 21st century and live mostly sedentary lives. We consider walking to the mailbox as taxing, and the hardest labor is making a machine do the work. Why is everyone you know getting heart attacks, cancer, or strokes? Ya think it might be diet related? I do. All that stuff in the center of the supermarket is the tastiest stuff but it's the deadliest, too.
It all comes down to carbs as the beginnings of all our diseases. Don't take my word for it. The research has been going on for a long time and they're learning new stuff every day. I'm of the opinion carbohydrates shouldn't even be a macro-nutrient necessary for human life. Carbs are good looking and taste good and keep you regular and that's about it.
And now I have something to go with my steak tar tare.
Bone appetite

joker easter egg
Joker made 935 million at the box office as of today. It's going to hit a billion very soon. That's pretty impressive for a movie that cost 53 million to make.
I think it might have something to do with movie goers getting tired of CGI as the main character and leftist SJW crap shoved down our throats. They killed Star Wars, Star Trek, and Ghostbusters. Batwoman, Supergirl... the list goes on. Get woke, go broke doesn't seem to affect the guys putting out this crap, as if they're paying shit tons of cash to enlighten everyone with their far left, social justice, virtue signaling propaganda and Joey Bagadonuts and Sally Sixpac are getting tired of it. This woke culture is making all of us taste the vomit of our sickened psyches for a reason. The writing sucks and women aren't experts at everything without a montage.
The only CGI Joker has is making New York look even shittier than it is by filling in more areas of Gotham with rundown buildings to give it that claustrophobic feel. The perfect setting for a man hitting rock bottom madness. Joker makes Midnight Cowboy look glamorous by comparison.
Todd Phillips, the Joker director, used to make comedies like the Hangover movies but quit doing that because of the far left's "feelings" about every damn thing. For now, comedy is dead, thanks to the social justice warrior viewpoint that no movie can be made without a woman as the lead and if she's a black lesbian, extra points. Forget about the learning curve. Bruce Wayne spent many years training to be Batman. Batwoman just needs to alter the batsuit and steal Batman's stuff, and touch-up her makeup. Who needs a learning curve when you're a victim?
Joker is a good movie. It's a spectacular tragedy and you really should see it on the big screen, if for no other reason but to see history in the making. By that I mean movies will be forever changed because of the total involvement of the masses and the producers see this as a profit machine. That means a turning point, a cinema paradigm shift. I quit watching Marvel movies because I couldn't put up with all the sequels. Civil War did it for me. What a pointless piece of crap. Wonder Woman had merit because she grew up as wonder woman but the rest of the Marvel Universe was like watching puppets on a stage. Originals are always best. Sequels and spinoffs are just diminishing returns for a production company who has no imagination but wants only money. How's that new Terminator movie going?
Todd Phillips might make a sequel or two but I'm totally against it. He'll be pressured to do it, you can bet the farm on that. A billion bucks from a 53 million investment? Are you fuckin kidding me? Everyone will wait in line to suck Todd's ass.
Maybe it's the plethora of Easter eggs this movie has. Did you notice every clock says 11:11? Todd says he wasn't aware of it. Yeah, right.
What does 11:11 mean to you?

sad life
Just about everyone I know has lived a sad life. Not all sad but enough. Most people won't admit it, not even to themselves, but their lives are sad. Sad things in their lives they remember and dwell upon. Sad job, sad family, sad neighbors, sad memories, sad relationships. Keep a stiff upper lip and when you're smiling the whole world smiles with you. Tired of the false slivers of happiness? I think it's time for a change. I think sadness has reached it's peak and unbridled happiness is beginning to replace it. I can feel it. Can you feel the change in the atmosphere?

joker
I saw Joker. I'm beside myself with impressed. I won't say it's the best movie I ever saw but it's damn fuckin good. After watching this movie I now know what madness is.
What do you get when you cross a mentally ill loner with a society that abandons him and treats him like trash?
You get what you fuckin deserve.
And to think I had girlfriends just like this. It's a miracle I'm still alive.

is it me?
Is it me or are these sneakers laughing at me? They feel good when I wear them but when I take them off I have to stifle them with my socks to keep from feeling jeered.

bubble twins 2
I finished building the twin bubbles and had them on violet ray and inferred for eleven days to fully charge them. The original plan was to stack them top to top with a 1" coupler holding them together. After some thought, I decided a spark gap might be a better idea so I made a separator out of 4" PVC and cut out a section to observe the gap. The one quarter inch gap was too much for the violet ray to make it spark so I temporarily added a paper clip to close the gap a bit.
Worked like a charm. The energy output was real nice, and the space between the two bubbles was especially energetic and euphoric.
Remember, I had an orgone mobius coil in each one of these units to use in place of the violet ray. I wasn't expecting much when I hooked up 33.33 kHz to the bottom bubble. I figured the cement MIGHT react like medium density orgonite but I didn't put much hope in it. Holy shit! This thing took off in a big way. It instantly created a bubble field around the piece that was noticeably stronger than the ray alone. The big surprise came when I tried to put my hand between the two. The energy field was so strong it threw me back. Not from any kind of discharge but the totally unexpected amount of energy this thing was putting out. That was frequency going to one bubble. I wonder what both hooked to frequency was like. Equally surprising, no difference in energy output. Hmmm....

This is a good thing. It means I don't have to use the AC violet ray to run this unit. I can hook up a 12v frequency generator with solar panels to keep it running indefinitely and take readings from the mobius wires connected to the other bubble, or hook it up to another unit, daisy chain style.
What have I learned so far? I learned that cement laced with metal particles can act the same as medium density orgonite, if not better, at a fraction of the cost. It doesn't take a giant mobius coil surrounded by extremely high density orgonite to get a big effect. In this case, as far as orgonite mobius coils go, it seems smaller might be better. That alone can save hundreds of dollars and radically decrease the time it takes to make a coil. I could make a dozen in an hour or so.
The next phase is parabolic mirrors, top and bottom, to create a close loop system.
I'll keep ya posted.

goodby summer. hello fall
It's the last day of summer. Perfect for the last time I'll eat sweet corn this year.
I'm really picky about corn, too. It has to be cooked up as soon as it's picked or the flavor goes. This corn was picked 20 minutes ago. I only get corn at this one farmers market that picks as needed. As soon as we pulled in, the truck pulled in with a load of corn and a couple guys to unload. I got the first half dozen. I also picked up a spaghetti squash and a kohlrabi. Total cost - $7.
Say what you want about cooking corn in sugar and butter, or some other recipe from people who buy corn wrapped in plastic and Styrofoam. That's for day old stuff. This here is the stuff farmers eat.
Later, I'll find some pumpkins to turn into brandy. Yeah baby, I love this time of year.
